We all need to work together to get the job done.
Betsy Hodges is a leader who understands that.
In Minneapolis, City Hall used to be a place of special favors and retribution, irresponsible budgets slapped together with side deals and 7 to 6 votes.
We cannot afford to go back – now is not the time for settling old scores.
Minneapolis is facing tough times. State funding cuts. Federal funding cuts. Paying off debts inherited from former administrations.
I know about facing tough times and I know we have to face our problems head on. That’s why I won’t make spending promises I can’t keep. That’s why I won’t let the City slide back into accumulating debt.
I will make sure – even as we keep working toward financial health – that we are maintaining the character and vitality of our City. I’ve included ideas about how we can do that on my ISSUES page.
I am running for City Council to make sure Minneapolis is a place where we and all our kids want to live – now and in the future.
I know the only way we make real progress is by working together – in our neighborhoods and in City Hall. I have a record of bringing people together. Even if we disagree on an issue, you and I will always be able to work together. You will always get excellent constituent service from my office.

"Betsy Hodges understands that the City’s budget is not just a numbers game, it is a statement of our community’s values and priorities. She also understands that we do not have unlimited resources – that choices need to be made. She knows that the public process is designed to frame and inform public decisions and she respects that process.
"That is why I am supporting her for City Council. I am confident that Betsy will carry on the delicate work of balancing our community’s needs, wants and desires within a sustainable tax policy.
"Please join me in voting for Betsy Hodges on November 8th."

it's a long road to the November 8th general election. We will need to work
hard to make sure neighbors and our vision for Minneapolis are represented
at City Hall."
